So here I am … Pardon me. With a halo above my head. Hello, hello, hello. Hello, hello. I’m whispering because I’m in an airport lounge, and I don’t want to be one of those annoying people. So, I’m actually in Fiji at the moment on a two hour stop over on my way to Los Angeles. Because I’m going to Brendan Bouchard’s brand new conference called “Influencer.” And I’m alone. Crazy, what’s been fascinating is it’s a three day conference, starts tomorrow in San Diego, and I’ve posted in lots of groups I’m in, “Who’s going to Brendan Bouchard’s Influencer conference?” Because I’m thinking, “There’s going to be people in some of the groups I’m in that are going.” And so far I haven’t found anyone.
And for some people that would be really nerveracking. You’re traveling all the way to the other end of the world and you don’t know anyone going. And there’s incredible speakers, like Brendan Bouchard, Rachel Hollis, Lewis Howes, Trent Shelton, [inaudible 00:01:08], just goes on and on, it’s incredible. So you want to go for that reason, but is there going to be a connection? And I’m not scared. I’m kind of excited about going somewhere to do something I want to do and learn from people I want to learn from. And it’s this open opportunity to meet people and have a different kind of experience.
So as I said, I’m in Fiji. I’ve got two hours, or an hour left now before I get on the plane again. So I had to do this otherwise I was going to miss a whole live. But the ones I’m going to do while I’m there are going to be packed full of content because I just know it’s going to be amazing. And what’s fascinating to me is … for those of you who don’t know, Brendan Bouchard is a very, very well known, respected, amazing, personal development guy. And has done a lot of work over the years on being an expert and has written lots of books. Prolific writer.
For those of you who don’t know, Rachel Hollis is gone from 30 people at events a few years ago to 8000 people at her events. Amazing, amazing woman. But for this event there wasn’t a lot of who haa, and I find that really fascinating that there wasn’t a big count down to purchase tickets. There wasn’t this massive thing that we get sometimes when people have events on where our Facebook feed and everything is just, “Event, event, event.” And you get so saturated with the information of what the event is going to be, that by the time that the event comes around, you’re like, “Oh, whatever. Yeah, I’m here. Been there, done that. Whatever.”
But this isn’t like that. So I’m intrigued because the topic is influencer. So it’s about how to take what you do, what you know, who you are, to the world in a bigger platform, in a bigger way. And given that this year I decided that … I mean I really got clear on the fact that I want to entertain, educate and empower people every single day for as long as I breathe. This event sounds just freaking perfect for me. So I’m excited. I encourage you, don’t be scared to do this kind of stuff. Honestly, I’ve spoken to a couple of friends of mine, “Oh my God. You’re going all that way? You don’t know anybody. Are you scared? What if it’s not a good event?”
Well, if it’s not a good event I’ll go shopping. But it’s not going to not be a good event. Because the people I’m going to see are incredible. But I’m taking a risk. There’s a financial involvement, [inaudible 00:03:58] not with me for the week. I’ve got to get the dog looked after, all that kind of stuff. But I think life is a jump in and do it or die wondering if you could’ve kind of thing. And I’m jumping in and doing it. So I’m going to take my halo, I keep going the wrong way, halo, halo halo. And get back on the next flight. So [foreign language 00:04:21] from Fiji and I’ll see you tomorrow night.
