I didn’t think that was going to work. Hello. I know the date today, it’s the 22nd of October, which means it’s my daughter [Elladie’s 00:00:09] 14th birthday party, birthday. What a 14 years it’s been. What a ride. Birthdays, I think of a time to reflect. They’re a time to dream, they’re a time for… For me, birthdays, especially Elladie’s birthday, it’s about me just pushing my boundaries about being a fun mom and the things I want to do for her while I still can. There’s going to be at some point when she’s like, “Mom, really? Do we have to go to dinner?” And at the moment that’s still not it. So we’ve got a couple of vegans in our family and a vegetarian. So I found this place called Mary’s, burger place in Circular Quay in Sydney that did burgers. Normal burgers, shouldn’t say normal, sorry, meat burgers, vegetarian dishes, vegan dishes, et cetera.
So we could all go as a family, which was great. And I made a burger cake. How cool is that? Even with, I have to show you one, french fries with like tomato sauce and mustard. So daggy. Tastes good too. And people say to me, a couple of people sent messages today going, “Oh my God, that’s ridiculous. That’s crazy. Why do you do all that work for it. You could have just bought a cake.” I got so much joy out of it when, and I’ve talked about this so often, but when you live in a busy life and you’re working and you’re doing lots of things, crazy things all the time, to have an outlet to do something that’s just fun and frivolous and enjoyable is just freaking awesome. And to me, is that cake as perfect as I had in my mind? But in my mind the bun was perfectly even and it was just a bit better.
And my cheese looked a bit more meltier out of the sides, but it didn’t matter. It actually looked beautiful, tasted fantastic and it was my gift to the people that were coming in to Elladie. And I got to spend a couple of hours having fun and doing something that I only do once or twice a year. So birthdays are good days. Birthdays are times to, as I said, do something fun like that, catch up with people you might not have seen for a long time. I know a lot of people that look at birthdays, even when they’re looking at their children’s birthdays and they’re like, “Oh my God, they’re now 14 or 13 or 15.” Whatever age it is. “It’s so depressing. I’m getting old.” It’s not, it’s so exciting. It’s so, the magic in our children’s lives is awesome. And the magic in our lives like each, I think of funny analogy, funny, weird, I don’t know, odd analogy.
You know how you can gauge the age of a tree by the rings in its trunk? Well, I think the stories in our lives, the pain, the joy, the laughter, the crazy times, the anger, the sadness, all of those things are like little extra rings in our life and they build us, they make us. So I think no matter what’s going on in your life, I think, birthdays should always be celebrated in some way, shape, or form. So you know what? I’m going to raise a burger cake to celebrating the birthdays of everybody. I just, and if it’s your birthday, let me know and I’ll give you a bit of a shout out. I can’t promise I’ll make you birthday burger cake. Whew. Good thing I’m not drinking, because I don’t think I can say that 10 times when I’m done drunk. See, birthday burger cake, birthday burger cake, birthday burger cake.
I’ll give you another look just so you can, I’ll give you, oh no, it all fell apart. The chips fell apart in the bag. Birthday burger, woohoo. It’s a bloody big cake don’t know what we’re going to do with it all. Have a great night. And if it’s your birthday, happy birthday. I’ve got a red tongue from the sauce. Night, night.
