So here I am. If you can’t see it, it is the Harbor Bridge in the background and the one and only Opera House. Here to see an opera tonight with one of my best friends, [Shamani 00:00:19], fabulous night. Eye is still gammy. What I wanted to talk about today was I actually rang a friend this morning and said, “So this, this, this and this and I choose happy” and it’s only really occurred to me. I’ve learned it, I guess. I’ve studied it over the last, I don’t know how many years I’ve been doing self development, personal development, whatever you want to call it, that we get to choose that. So regardless of what’s going on in our lives, we have control over those things that go around us or feelings and our thoughts and our actions.
And, we’ve talked a lot about how we can, how that’s our jam, we kind of control those, but it hasn’t been a great week. There’s been deaths, there’s been shite going on in my business. You know, I even had some problems with the [inaudible 00:01:21] this week, which you’ve never heard me say, and some frustration and things like that. And for over 24 hours, I could feel this welling up of, “Oh, god. How do I cope with this? What do I do?” That nagging question and as always, you know the answer to the question and you just need to actually come out, say it, even if it’s only in your head, you need to come out and say it.
But I choose happy and regardless of the drama that’s going on around me or the problems or, and even the great things, because you can be surrounded by great things and then you can almost go, “Oh, everything around me is so great. Why is my life show shit?” So isn’t that ridiculous? But yes, that is how the human brain works. So you know, I woke up today and I choose happy and it is a choice and it’s something that I will probably strive for, every day for the rest of my life.
That’s the nicest view you get, isn’t that Harbor pretty? So I encourage you to do it. Wake up tomorrow morning and regardless of what’s going on in your life or how you slept or what the scale set in the morning or what you had for breakfast, or how bad your coffee was in the morning. Choose happy. Just wake up and choose happy.
Reminds me of… I’m at the opera house, isn’t that funny? It reminds me of a musical. Do you know the musical South Pacific? “Happy talk. Keep talking happy talk, talk about things we like to do”. Random, I know, but yes, you all expect me to sing Pharrell Williams and didn’t you choose happy, happy talk, happy actions. Happy you. Happy life. Happy wife. As the saying goes, but happy life. Happy you. That’s my wish for you tonight. Wake up tomorrow and be happy.
