[365 Days of Extraordinary] Day 138 Transcript: Friendship

by | May 27, 2020 | 365 Days of Facebook Lives

Good afternoon, evening. It’s Friday at… I don’t know if it’s Queensland or New South Wales time because I’m right on the border and I’m up here. I’m going to flip the camera and show you where I am because it’s beautiful.

That’s the garden bit.

Say, how hi to .

Hi everybody.

Say hi to Amanda.

Hi everyone.

Pinterest - A friend is someone who understands your past, believes in your future, and accepts you just the way you are - Samantha LeithSo we’re all up here today for a funeral, which is horrible and I’m not going to get morbid and depressed about it. What I’m going to say is these guys, these girls and the people I’m here with today have been in my life for 20 plus years. And I just want to encourage you all to never underestimate friendship. And you can go through stages in life where people are party friends or they’re school friends or they’re work friends. And sometimes they’re just on the periphery and you might not actually be that close. But when there’s a tough time or a good time, they’re still there. Like they are true friends.

And here’s Ms. Tina. So we’re going to flip the camera. Say hi.

Hello, I’m here. I made it. Yes.

She did. And you know what’s amazing? These three girls watch my lives. Not all the time, but I see the statistics and I do see them watching sometimes. And sometimes I talk shit and sometimes I talk good stuff. And today is just one of those days… And they’re nodding. Do I really talk shit?

No, no, no.

And sometimes I have my dance in my kitchen. Don’t know why I chose to do that in the kitchen, but anyway.

I just want to encourage you today, pick up the phone and call a friend. That’s it. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t seen them for a year, for six months, two years, five years. Pick up the phone and call a friend because if they love you and they are really good friends, they will still be there. They will understand anything that’s gone on in your life, forgive you for not calling them, forgive you for the shit you might’ve sprouted over a dinner party and just be there.

So call them. Say I love you and tell them yes, because I do love these girls so much. Between us, I think we have 20, 25, 45 years of friendship.

Do it.

Yeah. A long time. We only look 10. We haven’t aged a day. So good night everybody. Happy Friday and I’ll talk to you all tomorrow.
