Hey guys, day 233. Who would’ve thunk it? I want to tell you a little bit about something I’ve been doing in the last week. I guess it’s a little bit different. If you’ve watched any of my videos, you’ve heard about my morning routine, which includes my journaling. So it’s the half a page of journaling, my power statements, gratitude, big dreams, and current goals. This week I’ve mucked it up a little bit, mucked around with it, whatever the terminology is, and instead of choosing statements about how I want to be, like I am energetic for example, or I’m rich or I’m sexy, any of those things. I’ve tweaked it to how I want to feel that day. Now, I used to do this a long time ago, but I did it more of a, today I want to be… finish stuff.
I’d put things like that. Today I want to finish stuff. Today I want to be happy, and they would just kind of benign, like nothing very exciting. And I think that’s probably why I stopped with that habit. So now, I’ve been doing things like, how do I really want to feel? Instead of being okay or fine or good or happy, sad, those kind of plain words I guess, I’ve been doing more of I want to feel fabulous. A word I love is fabulush, or fabulux. Now, I know technically they’re not real words, but they feel good. I think feeling fabulux is awesome. I want to feel inspired. So I’m trying to pick words that I don’t know, when I say them, I kind of go, “Oh yeah, that feels really good,” instead of, “I want to be dedicated.” That’s like, whatever.
It’s more about the intention of how I want to feel rather than the result I want. So to me, feeling energetic is about having the energy to do all the things I need to get done, so it’s got a bit more of a doing feeling, a doing vibe to it, as opposed to just the centered feeling. Now, unless you’re suffering from clinical depression, any kind of psychiatric illness, bipolar, there’s whole heap of them, anything that’s actually kind of chemically treated or in one of those families, I really believe you can choose how you feel. Things happen to you and you get to choose whether you want to take it in a positive way or a negative way. So why the hell not wake up each day and as part of your practice, go, “You know what? Today I want to feel luxurious. Today I want to feel sexy. Today I want to feel funky.”
Pick a word that’s just going to make you feel great. Why not? Got nothing to lose. And then when someone says to you, “How are you doing today, Sam?” I can say, “Fabulous.” I love that. So that’s my challenge for you today. I want you to pick a word that’s even one, I’ve been doing a couple of words, but I’m going to keep playing with how I’m doing that every day, because I may still want one of those power statements and maybe a feeling. I’ll tweak it and I’ll let you go know how I go. Because as you know, I do it every day, so I kind of get used to it.
I get to know what feels good. And I hope you’re all doing some form of that kind of journaling practice every day. It’s so important. It really, really is. Whether you are writing or speaking into something, or even just a meditative process on how you’re feeling, you’re gratitude, all that stuff that’s going on. So today, tell me how you want to feel. What is a word that conjures up just all that awesomeness? Okay. Have a great day, and I will see you later. Bye.
