Timestamped summary of this episode:
00:00:00 – You welcome to the Samantha Leith podcast, episode 44, all about adding manifestation to achieve your goals this year in 2024, welcome to the Samantha Leith podcast with me, Samantha Leith. I have a passion for exploring anything and everything that can help us to be extraordinary. Each week I’m going to dive into a topic and explore it extensively. Because if there’s something that makes for a better life, I want to learn about it and more importantly, share it. And hey, you may just get the OD song thrown in.
00:00:38 – There’ll be deep conversations, fun and Travolta. Helpful tools for you to add to your life straight away, random musings about anything from coffee to sex and information that may just blow your mind. This is a podcast for dreamers, believers, action takers and achievers. It’s personal development, but not as you know it.
00:01:03 – So isn’t manifestation all about just thinking about something, sitting back and going, and then voila, it’s happened. You’ve manifested it into existence. Well, I hate to break it. Dear kids, it’s not that simple. But it is.
00:01:23 – But it’s not. So stick with me here. I really believe that we can all achieve things we set our mind to if it’s something within the realms of our possibility. I think I’ve mentioned this before. I could do all the goal planning I want and all the manifestation practices in the world.
00:01:44 – I’m still not going to be an Olympic athlete. I’m not going to be able to be an astronaut. An astronaut, sorry, but they’re not things I want. So that’s okay. And quite often people, and I know a lot of my clients that I’ve dealt with in the past have thought, but I read that book and I watched that movie, and I just have to think about something and write myself a check from the universe and a law come true.
00:02:10 – No, it really isn’t that simple. You do have to take steps in order to support that wondrous thing that is the universe around us. And working with some of the manifestation techniques alongside your daily do goals and your goal practices and your journaling habits, all those kind of things will help you achieve those goals, that you may achieve them faster, you may achieve them better, all sorts of things, but you have to still put in the work. Give you a little example. I was manifesting and working towards buying our house.
00:02:56 – I think I have told the story before on the podcast. I can’t remember because I often talk about it when I’m doing keynotes and things. I used to drive to the house. I’d pick my daughter up from school and we’d drive to the house and we’d like walk around, have a look. We do all sorts of things.
00:03:10 – Like we really put ourselves in there. We could feel ourselves living in that house. Now, obviously you don’t want to get a little bit crazy and you got a bit stalkery, but I quite often will put myself into situations that make me feel something about what I want to be doing, where I want to be going, what do I want to be achieving, all of that kind of thing. I’ll go real estate shopping, and at this point in my life, I can’t afford that particular house. But man, I feel good and I feel excited and I feel motivated walking into that house.
00:03:46 – So there’s just one little example of a way that you can add one of those steps of manifestation to help you achieve your goals this year. Now, there are lots of different steps and you can follow lots of people. All you got to do is use the hash tag manifestation anywhere online or have a Google to find lots of people that talk about it and teach about it. I’m not an expert in manifestation. I don’t teach it.
00:04:12 – However, I really believe I have used a lot of these tools and techniques to get what I want and to get further in life. And I do pass that on to my clients. I offer it to you to have a listen, take what you will and ignore the bits that you don’t like. Okay, now, some of the things I’m going to talk about, I talk about all the time anyway, so journaling, for example. I talk about journaling.
00:04:40 – I have a journal. You can go to Amazon.com au or Amazon.com and buy one if you like. Sounded a bit news reader ish, said, didn’t I? That was funny. All the things you do.
00:04:51 – But journaling, honestly, I think is one of the top tips for manifesting things in life. So writing out your thoughts and also writing out about what you’re trying to manifest. And as you know, my journaling process, I have like the brain dumpy kind of write page and then I have my five things I’m grateful for. And gratitude is a huge step in the manifestation process. If you’re not grateful for where you are or what you have in life, you’re not going to get more good stuff.
00:05:31 – Good doesn’t come if you’re sitting around wallowing and thinking, I’m hopeless, I’m never going to achieve this. It’s all taking its time. And I’ve had that check in my wallet for three years and I still haven’t made the money woes me no more. Good stuff’s not going to come your way. But if you have absolute, real gratitude for where you are and what you’re doing and who you are and all those kind of things, at this point in time, more good will happen.
00:06:04 – I really, really believe that. I believe that for myself and I believe it for you. Because end of the day, we’re all worthy of that good stuff happening for us. And when we put in the work, it makes it just better. It really, really does.
00:06:22 – So that gratitude piece about that is really good. And when you’re also doing the journaling process, if you try to really in particular, manifest something, it’s really important that you do that big dream section and you write out that goal section and you can write out your goals in your journal in a couple of different ways. You can do the bullet point, note point kind of thing. It’s the 31st of the third, 2024. And I’m so feel so proud that I’ve achieved 1234, whatever, like those kind of points.
00:06:55 – Or you can put some more manifesting words into what you’re writing. So it’s the 31st of the third 24. And I feel so alive because I’ve achieved my goals this quarter. I know I’ve achieved x, Y and z because I see the results, blah, blah blah blah blah. And I hear da da da blah.
00:07:21 – And then I like to add the sentence, I have achieved all of this because I blah, blah, blah, blah. And that’s when I’ll often put one of my power statements. And I’m motivated and disciplined or conscientious or consistent, any of those kind of things. And when I’m writing my goal statement out in that kind of paragraph format, it really helps you cement it and feel it in your bones what you’re actually out to do. And you’re writing it in that past tense like it’s happened.
00:07:54 – You just did it. Okay. It’s not that you are going to do it on the 31st or the third. It’s that you just actually did it. Now, another thing you want to add when you’re doing this is actually leaving things behind.
00:08:10 – So you want to actually. No, better want to say it’s not just leaving things behind, but making room. So removing things so you make room for good to happen. So say you have a goal of a spa pool in your backyard this year. Well, if you don’t make the plans and start clearing out the garden so you’ve actually got a place for it, chances are it’s not going to happen.
00:08:42 – Likewise, if you are single and one of your goals this year is to get into a relationship. Now, I do think a better way is having goals to actually go on a certain number of dates, et cetera, because you can’t really control whether you’re going to find Mr. Or Mrs. Right this year, but you can control how many dates you go on. However, if both sides of your bed, so both bedside tables are full of your crap, there’s no space in the wardrobe or any of those things.
00:09:11 – You don’t have the space to allow a great partner to come into your life. Okay, say you want that amazing Dior star handbag. That YSL star handbag? Yeah, I did have it on my vision board a couple of years ago. Didn’t get it, didn’t do the work for it.
00:09:28 – That’s okay.
00:09:32 – Go into the store, have a look at it, clear a space in your wardrobe or on your handbag, bookcase or wherever it is you want to have that beautiful piece. Make sure there’s room for it while you’re trying to actually work on achieving that goal and helping with manifestation in order to achieve that goal. Okay, back to the journey. Get off my soapbox. Then back to the journaling part.
00:09:56 – Another part of my journal that we have is a space to write your power statements or affirmations, things like that. And that’s a really good tool as well. To help with manifestation. You can also say them, the mirror. Say what you want into a mirror as you go.
00:10:15 – You want to affirm who you’re becoming and the work that you’re doing in order to achieve those goals. I’m a magnet. Denise, one of my friends, one of her best affirmations that I use all the time is it’s my time and I’m ready for the next know. Success comes easily to me. There’s so many things I love my body.
00:10:40 – I’m the fittest I’ve ever been. All of those kind of things that you can say to yourself. Looking in a mirror will help you.
00:10:49 – Even for the most cynical person listening to this, the least any of these things can do is support your belief in your ability to achieve these goals. Okay, if you take, remove all the woo woo out of it. I like to say I’m analytical with a woo woo rising, but if you remove all the woo out of it, there’s nothing bad that can happen from doing these steps. Doing these things won’t mean you’re not going to achieve your goals. Doing these things won’t mean that someone else won’t achieve their goals.
00:11:24 – The universe is a huge, amazing, wonderful place. So you want to do as much as you can in order to support your goals and dreams happening. Okay. Visualization. And visualization is a huge part of manifestation.
00:11:40 – So you’ve probably heard me talk about before, like vision boards and posters slept up on the wall. Create your vision board in Canva and have it as a desktop wallpaper on your computer. Then you can magicy thingy. What’s it called? Magic.
00:11:58 – The magic tool that they have on Canva and turn it into phone wallpaper. So you’re constantly looking at that vision board, have it printed out by your bed, and have it folded up on a piece of paper. You can do any of those kinds of things. I used to have my vision board, not actually as a vision board. I would have it like little cards.
00:12:22 – I had one for every area of my life. And each card was the size of, I think it’s eight by four or six by four, the small photos. And I would print it on that, and I had it in one of those little small photo flipped books. And before I went to bed every night, and when I woke up in the morning, I’d flip through that photo book. Sometimes I carried it in my handbag.
00:12:40 – And there was, like, lifestyle, and there was health, there was money, there were all sorts of different cards on there about what I was working on that year. I forgot I hadn’t thought about that for so long. And now I want to do it again. Probably about, I don’t know, maybe ten years ago I did that. I really want to do that again.
00:13:01 – Stick with me, kids. I may just do that and I will show you what I do. So posters, printers, any of those kind of things, and looking at them often through the day is really good. And saying what you’re trying to manifest, the goal you’re trying to achieve throughout the day, is really good. There was a, I think it’s a three, six, nine method.
00:13:21 – So three times in the morning, six times during the day, nine times at night. Saying what it is that you’re wanting to manifest or achieve. And that’s quite popular through a lot of people. And doing that before you go to bed, I think is really important. Another one to think about is how they say you’re the sum of the people you hang around the most, and you earn the average of the people you hang around the most and those kind of things.
00:13:47 – It’s really, really true when it comes to manifestation and your goals. If you’re hanging around people that don’t believe in goal setting, or think you’re a fruit loop for goal setting, or think, don’t you think you’re a bit big for your boots trying to achieve all of that, young lady? No. You want to limit your time with those people. You really want to.
00:14:14 – And although I’m saying be positive and surround yourself with positivity, and repeat your affirmations and visualize your goals and your dreams and have them printed out and all of those kind of things, you still got to do the work. If fitness is one of your goals and you’re really thinking about it and you’ve got the body stuck up on the wall that you want to do, you’ve still got to get your backside to the gym. Okay? It’s not going to happen if you’re sitting on the couch watching Netflix. And what I’d like to add is, while you’re doing this, it’s really important, as I said before, is to keep as positive a mindset as possible.
00:14:58 – Sort of practice gratitude, find it in the small things. However, life sometimes sucks. And we can have bad days and we can have down days, and the people around us can have bad days and down days. There can be a catastrophe in the world. All sorts of things can happen.
00:15:17 – So I am not in any way, shape or form suggesting that you have this kind of toxic positivity and, oh, it’s all rainbows and unicorns, and if I just think it all positive, it’s all going to happen for me and it’s going to be a mad thing. No, toxic positivity is probably, I don’t know. As I said, I’m not a manifestation expert, but I would say would almost be like whole, like, you know, when magnets won’t come together. What’s it called? I can’t remember what it’s called.
00:15:51 – They push apart. I actually think if you full of toxic positivity, that crazy positivity, I actually think that would be a little bit repelling. Okay. Yeah, I do. Yeah.
00:16:02 – Isn’t that funny? Some of the other tips and things that can help you do this along the way. Alarms on your phone. Yes, alarms on your phone. I know, they’re so annoying.
00:16:14 – But if your alarm to go off at really random times is something about your goal and what you’re trying to manifest, it’s a beautiful way to raise your vibration a little bit extra that day. And yes, I know I sound woo when I say that, but honestly, we want to keep our vibration as high as possible, as often as possible. Looking after ourselves, surrounding ourselves with positive people doing the work that we can to achieve our goals, all these kind of things. And that little reminder throughout the day, that’s one of those moments where I’m not going to say, get off, you’re fine. And a little hint, if you know that your alarm is set off to go at 10:00 and 12:00 and all those kind of times, not going to pay attention to it.
00:16:54 – Okay, you’re going to get to go, whatever. So I suggest at the beginning of the week, just when you scroll to the alarm part of your phone, just like flick and kind of randomize the time that it’s actually going to go off for you. And you’re like, oh, and if you do that every week, you don’t really know, or every couple of days, or when you think about it, just go for it, change it, and see what actually happens with what you’re trying to achieve. So I’ve covered lots of bits about how to add a little bit of manifestation into achieving your goals. Still a couple more I want to cover, one of which is there’s a saying, fake it till you make it.
00:17:39 – And I don’t like that because I don’t like fake people. I say for myself and to my clients, be it till you are it. Okay? So I want you to embody what it is you’re trying to achieve. Walk into that gem feeling like you’re already fit.
00:18:04 – And if that feels so far away from you, walk into there feeling like, I’ve got this. My body is getting fitter. Yes, I’m here again. My body’s getting fitter. Even if you fall off the wagon the next day, I want you to embody that as you’re doing it.
00:18:28 – If one of your goals is here is to get a better job.
00:18:33 – I almost want to say walk around in the better suit with a better briefcase. But what did I just step out of the crazy? Act like you already have that better job, starting to play around with what will your LinkedIn bio say when you are the CEO? Okay, when you’ve stepped up that next level, what would your bio say? Obviously, probably don’t change your LinkedIn bio now, but write it out, be it until you are it.
00:19:10 – The whole thing about setting and achieving goals is that four step process of dream, believe, act, achieve and manifestation kind of, I think, fits into probably a little bit of all of them, really. And that how you affirm things to yourself, what you’re surrounding yourself, what you’re writing down, how grateful you feel, all of those things that I’m suggesting that you do really help with that believe phase. They really, really help. And it’s when you have that belief in yourself and what you’re going to achieve, that you’ll take the steps, you’ll do the actions to get where you want to go. Now, if you’re new to manifestation, but you may have heard of the book the Secret or the movie the Secret.
00:20:06 – Rhonda Byrne, Aussie Woman, wrote it, created this documentary, went on to be huge, phenomenal success all around the world. Now, I’ve listened to a couple of handful of interviews with her over the years, and she was broke ass when she did it. She’d upped credit cards to the max and think she might have mortgaged a house, I can’t remember, but she started one of the things that she talks about in the whole raising your vibration and starting to feel better about things which will help you manifest more, really appealed to me, and that is because often money is one of those things that we all want to manifest more of.
00:20:48 – It’s $150,000,000 on Powerball this week, people. Someone may get that wowzer. It blows my mind. I can’t even imagine what you do with that kind of money. Good, I hope whoever wins it and maybe I will buy a ticket, but no, I’m not living a lotto dream life.
00:21:04 – And you can have a look on my website for more information on that. Don’t want to be doing that. Sorry. Back to manifesting money is feeling more positive about how you are in your financial situation. So when you get a bill, being grateful for the bill and thinking it’s actually she tweaked it.
00:21:21 – And I haven’t managed to do this, but I am definitely more grateful about receiving bills. But she used to get a bill and pretend it was money coming in, so it’d be a bill for $1,000. She’d be like, yay, I got $1,000. I haven’t quite got to that, but I am grateful definitely for having that bill because it means I’ve got food or services or clothes or whatever it is. That’s not that we these days, it’s not actually usually a bill that comes in.
00:21:47 – It’s just money that gets taken out of my account. But you get the picture. Okay, so just to recap, there’s a few things I want you to do to help manifest your goals this year. Practice your journaling, be it till you are it. Raise your vibration by doing things that look after yourself, surrounding yourself with positive people, and get into the zone of what it really is going to feel like to have achieved that goal.
00:22:21 – If it is driving around, buy a house that you want to buy, drive around that house every single day, okay? To practice the 3693 in the morning, six during the day, nine at night. Have your vision everywhere. The flip board, the phone alarms, the affirmations. Look at it before you go to bed, if you can have it as the last thing you think about before you nod off.
00:22:49 – And that first thing in the morning before reaching for your phone. It’s really, really good. And I give you a little, little hint. I recently tried this. I’m not going to share the one I’ve done for myself with you, but I might share the prompts.
00:23:08 – I might tweak it a little bit and share it with you. So, you know that Chat GPT thing that we’re all talking about and people are using? I did a chat to see, get a little ten minute meditation about my goals and what I’ve been, and I recorded it myself. I tweaked it, obviously, a little bit because never ever, no, gosh, don’t ever copy something straight out of chat Chat GPT and use it. You want it as that piece of white paper in the beginning of the day to get the ideas going.
00:23:40 – So I did this all ten minute meditation and I recorded it with my own voice. And I’ve been listening to that before I go to bed and I listen to it when I get up in the morning. How cool is that? All you got to do is pick up your phone, record it into your voice memo, and that’s your voice telling you, expressing the vision of what you’re trying to create this year. You listen to that twice a day, maybe do it at lunchtime when you’re going for a walk, as many times as you can.
00:24:14 – That is going to seep into your soul and help you achieve what you want this year. So that’s my challenge to you. My two challenges to you this week actually are record a meditation of yourself, talking about the goals that you’re wanting to achieve this year. And secondly, if you do create a vision board in any format with a flip thing, the phone, the desktop wallpaper poster on the wall, or you hand draw it, or you cut out magazine pictures like back in the good old days. I used to love that.
00:24:48 – I missed that, actually. I want you to take a photo of it, screenshot it and share it on the socials and tag me at Samantha Leith because I would really, really love to see that. Love to see and support you in your goals for this year. That’s it for today. Have an incredibly extraordinary, fantabulous week.
