Yes, I made a mistake. I do it all the time – well not all the time, but sometimes, and when I do, I am not afraid to admit it and learn something from it.

“To err is human, to forgive divine.”
Alexander Pope, An Essay on Criticism

See I’m not very well at the moment, so I have been missing some steps in my business and thinking “I’ll do it later” or “that will do”. The truth is that will not do. I am a systems specialist and today I fell down, because I didn’t have a system.

It’s such a silly mistake I made too. I was sending emails. Simple task, we all do it everyday. Now this was a new email I had to send to a few people. What was I doing?? Good old fashioned Copy and Paste….arrfhghghg. That’s where it all went wrong. I forgot to change someones name!!!! Dumbo mistake, and so easy to avoid.

If I had not tried to take a shortcut by not taking the time to set up the email as a standard rule in Office Autopilot………well you know what would have happened. I would have taken the minutes it takes to set up an email and rule, hit send and OAP would have made sure all the names were correct. Instead, I have to send an apology email and look like a twit.

Another thing I could have done is get my very capable VA to send out the emails for me. Again, dumbo. I can do it, it will only take a couple of minutes. Because of my brain freeze, I was not delivering the best service to my customers. Not good enough in my book.

Did I learn my lesson? You bet. Is a email rule being set up in OAP? Absolutely.

No video this week – sorry, but you do not want to see these gammy eyes. Fingers crossed I’ll be back on deck for next week.
